HOW TO ENCOURAGE YOUR TEAMS BACK TO THE OFFICE
WE'VE REALISED WE CAN WORK FROM HOME - BUT SHOULD WE BE BACK IN THE OFFICE?
The last two years have taught us that we are certainly capable of working from home. But if your teams are still enjoying WFH - how can you win them back?

A business is nothing without its people. And people are nothing without a great culture. Keeping your culture alive when we haven't been able to work together has meant a vast array of Houseparty Friday drinks (is that still going?) and naked sprinting husbands crashing our Zoom meetings. We've all muddled through and now that finish line is in sight.
Now the world has changed, businesses have had to change too. Where once WFH was frowned upon as skiving - it's now widely accepted and many businesses has moved to a hybrid model.
3 days in the office and 2 at home are now the norm, and the work/life balance is so much better.
So what perks can you give to employees to sweeten the deal?
REBUILD YOUR COMMUNITY
Socialising time should be at the forefront. Many of your staff may not have seen each other for a long time face to face. You may have even had new starters that haven't met their new colleagues in person yet. Organise a team-building day in the office and give them a chance to reconnect. Don't forget the beer and nibbles.
MAKE YOUR OFFICE SOMEWHERE PEOPLE WANT TO BE
An attractive and welcoming office space is somewhere people actually want to be. So spend some money and time and look for ways to improve. Is the lighting ok? Is the air conditioning unit blowing out too cold? How old is your kettle? Could you lease a Costa machine? Are the chairs comfortable and ergonomic? So many little changes can have such a profound effect.
OFFER A HYBRID WORKING MODEL
As we mentioned before a better work/life balance is going to create happier working lives. Not having to do a 2-hour commute 2 days a week is really going to help stress and purse levels.
CONTRIBUTE TOWARDS TRAVEL COSTS
There, we said it. Contribute or fully reimburse your employee's travel costs. This small gesture really willl pay off.
As Head of Culture for many years, I have seen what pisses teams off the most. Business Owners and Managers can no longer bury their heads in the sand - as employees no longer feel grateful just to be employed - they need more. The tide has turned and companies need to jump back into the water.
